No secrets are safe from the storm.
Morfa Halen is a tight-knit Welsh town precariously nestled between towering mountains and a fast-encroaching sea that threatens its very existence. As a once-in-a-generation storm begins to gather far out at sea, former detective turned teacher Jackie Ellis discovers the body of her 8-year-old pupil, Cefin, seemingly drowned. The discovery sends shockwaves through the community, reviving the ghost of an unsolved cold case that rocked the town three years prior - the disappearance of Jackie’s niece, Nessa, which cost her career.

Boring, incredibly slow, uninteresting, none of the characters make sense or are likeable. Waste of talent.
Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris, if they were estranged Welsh detectives instead of musicians. On a serious note, this was a dark, depressing, and quite disturbing watch. Luckily, it's only six episodes long, and the drama flows well into the mystery. The story requires some patience, but it kept me invested, and the payoff felt rewarding. Much like the acting, the writing has its ups and downs. However, the tie-in to themes like environmental pollution and climate change was brilliant and felt natural. Beautiful cinematography and great casting. Wales hasn't looked brighter.

Sky One mostly gives really good shows, especially in the police drama mystery. This was no exception. Firstly, the value of production was very high the scenery was amazing, truly mesmerizing beautiful landlines, the flood the everything felt very real. The story was engaging, yes a bit of a slow but only 6 episodes what did you expect? The ending was very satisfied, no loose ends and again a fantastic cinematography of the village afterwards. Rafe Spall was extra good. You can watch this in a day. Do it.
The best thing about the show is the location, the scenery. The rest is utterly forgettable.
