Honestly it's fun to see Steve Carrel in an awkward type of role. It's like 40 year old virgin meets The Office in a college campus. Awkward, weird and funny in all the right ways. Happy to see Steve Carrel back in a tv show.
Like in Shrinking everyone is talking about their sex live with everyone in the most disgusting way possible. The dialogues are unbelievable (a mother telling her son that he cracked up her vagina to the rectum before his friends). The situations are unbelievable. The wokeness his ever so present (men are weak, women are strong). I thinkI'll go back rewatching older shows wheni writers where good...
I’ve watched 3 episodes so far. I’m going to watch the 4th, but I’ll probably drop it after that unless it really levels up. Maybe I just don’t get this one, but I’m not feeling what this is meant to be. I’ve had a few chuckles, but this doesn’t really feel like a great comedy. There are some awkward moments, but nothing really surprising or consistently awkward to be its own thing. There seems like they want the possibility of sentimental moments, but I just don’t feel like there is enough there to make me care. I had hoped/expected this was going to a smarter show, but I also haven’t seen any clever takes or insights into anything yet. I love Carrel in most things, but this feels very average. Hoping they find their stride and push a few more boundaries somewhere. Something to make this stand out and be worth watching rather than just filler material with a high value production.
Watched 4 episode’s and each episode was better than the previous. It’s a dry comedy , not like the in your face The Office comedy, but honestly just as good. It’s a great start for a new show for Steve and glad to see him back. Someone here mentioned 40 year old virgin and that’s the kind of character he plays here and it’s perfect
While Steve Carell brings his usual charm, Rooster ultimately falls flat.
