Neeraj Pandey has found the code to these spy-military-police operated shows, like he always delivers. The Freelancer starts like a grounded rescue thriller and slowly grows into something heavier and more emotionally layered. The tension is real, especially in the conflict-zone sequences, and the show doesn’t glamorize the chaos it depicts. Mohit Raina anchors it well, controlled and intense without overplaying heroism, while the emotional stakes around the hostage arc give the story weight. The pacing stretches at times, and some exposition feels blunt, but the atmosphere stays gripping. Gritty, serious, and more thoughtful than your average action series.
