I like Conan. I always have. But I couldn't get through 2 episodes of him ranting and yelling and making fun of people and their culture to their face like an ignorant fat American. The people he's with don't get it and they just stare at him like he's insane... which is how I stared at the screen watching it.
I was not a big fan of Conan's second half run on TBS. But I loved him on Late Night and The Tonight Show and the first half of his show on TBS. While he needs an audience to work with, this show is even without it pretty good! I prefer this show to the second half of his show "Conan" on TBS.
I think this show needs audience laughter. It's clear that Conan has developed his style of comedy in a way which gives space for laughter, but with no laughter it can just feel awkward and cringey in some of those moments.
A completely stupid and pointless series. What should be funny and humorous about it? Conan poking around and spouting nonsense?
