watched this in 2019, back to back from the start. I'm going to miss watching it.. every episode is great, all the relationships are good. The finale was good too... nicely wrapped up the whole show... 10/10!
I love this show, so emotional and beautiful! Needless to say i cried a few times through it. I would recommend it!
These characters are all so incredibly self involved. Some of them are just horrible people. Who am I supposed to be rooting for? It helps to imagine this is an alternate reality where Lorelai Gilmore was swapped at birth. Why does Lauren Graham only play that one selfish and whiny person? It’s a sort of ‘I love to hate it’ situation. The choices the characters make and the things they think matter are just mystifying to me but I can’t look away.
As I watch season 2, I’m increasingly realizing that the values this show promotes are actually quite dangerous. I really like Adam and Kristina’s family—they’re the ones who work the hardest at maintaining their marriage and raising their children. But the stories the writers have created for the other characters basically send this message: as long as you’re unhappy or going through a tough time in life, it’s acceptable to do drugs or cheat, without ever having to take real responsibility. Crosby and Jasmine are both selfish people—neither of them is willing to truly commit or sacrifice in the relationship. They had a child out of wedlock and now expect the child to respond positively to their decision to get married? Can’t they see how their own sin has impacted him? I also don’t understand on what grounds Jasmine is taking them to see a pastor for premarital counseling. What foundation is she even standing on? The characters in this show can be aimless and do nothing, yet still expect to land jobs, own homes, and get into good schools just because of their connections. It really reflects a very typical middle-class mindset.
