This series answers the question, "What if an incredible, important, yet untold story from history was turned into a prestige TV series by the Hallmark Channel?" The flashes of great acting & seriousness of the subject matter are often undercut by the preposterously overwrought script & pedantic direction. I'm glad that this got made, but disappointed at the mediocrity. A shame, really.
Pretty decent show, I kept watching…. Honestly though— it was a bit disappointing.
The first few episodes feel a touch bogged down. We don't necessarily need to meet every single character episode 1, especially when their relevance in the story doesn't come up right away. But overall a solid show.
