A look at former U.S. president Teddy Roosevelt and Brazilian army officer Cândido Rondon's journey to explore unknown regions of the Brazilian Amazon.

[HBO Max] Although it is about an expedition through the Amazon, it fails to convey the feeling of adventure, focusing more on the relationship between Theodore Roosevelt and the colonel and explorer Cândido Rondon. The proposal directed by veteran Bruno Barreto is interesting, but a more focused look on the Brazilian point of view would have been more appropriate, while it seems like a production centered on the North American point of view. The personality of Cândido Rondon is more attractive and fascinating, although he remains in a secondary role, than that of President Roosevelt himself.
