Hacks is the greatest comedy of all time. Season 4 felt like the best season yet, hilarious as always and absolute top tier writing of Ava and Deborah. A joy to watch and a beautiful balance of deep emotional content and fun. Deserves a 10 for how perpetually exciting it was to go back to.

Best season, episode 9 was marvellous, can't wait for it to return.

I think episode 9 should’ve been the end to the season, because we finally see some well deserved growth in Deborah, just to see it disappear again in episode 10. Still, another solid and funny season, but I really hope there will be no Ava vs. Deborah feuds in the next one, I’m kind of over those.

I guess by now we can say that the end of season twists they’ve been doing every single time is never a way to really upset the status quo, only a way to create some mildly different dynamics. But it’s fine, it’s a TV show. Also, it’s fine because once again it spawns a lovely season, that talks about the creative process and how to respect it while looking for success, but is also about deepening the relationships between characters and letting great actors cook. And it’s so much fun! Can’t wait for season 5.

I loved this season of Hacks. They trimmed out a bunch of the fat with some of the side characters, really focusing in on Deborah and Ava, though Jimmy and Kayla get their time to shine as well. It remains breezy viewing that continues to elicit laughs effortlessly. However, the real quality in this show and in this season in particular is the relationship between Deborah and Ava, the very beating heart of this story. That dynamic is as strong as ever across the surprising amount of plot progress throughout the season. I can talk your ear off about the humor or the acting performances, but at the end of the day, the scenes that stick with me are when the camera zooms in, background noise dims, and that melodic piano theme begins to play. Hacks remains one of the best dramedies on TV.
