I’m not typically into “religious” humor but John does a pretty good job of striking a balance that’s not too overbearing. Don’t get me wrong, the word Jesus is uttered at least twenty times, but it doesn’t come off as preachy and his whiplash dialogue and steady stream of jokes makes it easy for viewers to move on to the next joke if the previous one isn’t necessarily their cup of coffee. A lot of content was written for this 50 minute special, a lot of it very unique, and Crist’s electric energy and animated style on stage keeps the entire thing entertaining. 7/10.
