Black docu-comedy from the largest pawn shop in Poland. Times are tough, bankruptcy looms, but then the two choleric proprietors get a bright idea. A hilarious, heartwarming film.

[VdR'22] With a humorous look and characters as charismatic as Jolanta and Wiesław, it is a fun but at the same time hopeless documentary about the end of an era and a society that seems to live on the remains of the past. The pawnshop on Persistence Street in a neighborhood that seems anchored in another time is the reflection of a country like Poland that seems to look back rather than face the future.
