Excellently acted and full of touching moments, _Le Soleil de trop près_ attentively deals with the dramatic events of a young French schizophrenic in a period of deep crisis. The film allows the viewer to identify not only with the protagonist suffering from psychosis but also with those who, with strenuous dedication, try to support him from the depths of intimacy. The talented Clément Roussier and Marine Vacth, accompanied by the director's touch, cannot help but arouse a deep sense of compassion for the protagonists. Brieuc Carnaille, in his first feature film, proves from the outset to be an excellent director with a marked sensitivity. No doubt to be followed in his future works.
