An American remake of a Hong Kong horror film, The Eye is an atmospheric supernatural thriller. Jessica Alba stars as a blind violinist who starts to see strange things that aren’t there after receiving an eye transplant. Alba is fairly good, and Chloe Grace Moretz gives a strong supporting performance. Additionally, the director does an impressive job at creating suspense and tension. Yet at its core, the plot’s a pretty standard ghost story that follows all of the usual stereotypes and clichés. So while it’s able to delivers a few chills, overall The Eye is a predictable and formulaic film.

A mix of "Ghost Whisperer" and "Final Destination". And a bit of anti-promotion for organ transplants. ;)

Stopped paying attention when she looked in the mirror and saw a different face

It's more of a thriller than a horror, but it's a decent one. The beginning is full of her running from ghostly images and trying to get people to believe her. It's repetitive and goes on for too long. Also, the special effects are outdated for the grim reapers... these "scary" entities of death look like they go to work in black full body leotards. Thankfully, it becomes much more interesting in the second half once she stops running away from her visions and gets to do something about her situation. I'd say it's worth watching; it made me cry more than once. There is some mildy disturbing imagery with a child at her apartment but not enough to really inspire horror in me. I'll be watching the original for sure.
