The first film of cinéma vérité
Paris, summer 1960. Anthropologist and filmmaker Jean Rouch and sociologist and film critic Edgar Morin wander through the crowded streets asking passersby how they cope with life's misfortunes.

More interesting on a conceptual/historical level than anything else, and even that isn't much. It felt a little too self-consciously intellectual, but that might be because the concept of documentary along with its capacities and limitations feel like well-trod ground in this day and age.
