In Italy... on the Mediterranean... across an ocean... and all over New York!
A couple falls in love and agrees to meet in six months at the Empire State Building - but will it happen?

Remember that scene in Sleepless in Seattle where Rosie O Donnell and Meg Ryan are talking about an old movie they love where the characters promise to meet on top of the Empire State building and they start crying because it was so romantic? Well, this is the movie they were talking about. Two passengers on a ship fall in love but once they're off the boat, the twists of life seem to pull them apart. This is the height of romantic movies and is one that everyone should watch at least once.
One of my favourite movies of all time. Deborah Kerr is a Lady and Cary Grant is in his element, as only Cary Grant can be. This movie has inspired so many other movies like Sleapless in Seattle but none can measure up to its unique allure. I cry everything I watch it and laugh and feel all these human emotions the characters portray. It's a lovely film from a different era....another world entirely. A must watch.....-sniffle-
Really lovely, especially the first hour and most especially in the final scene. Pretty sure Kerr can never do wrong, and Cary Grant fully steps into his mid-career suave playboy role here. I could have done without some of the musical numbers and the middle act really drags as the leads are separated, but it's not enough to lessen my enjoyment or my heartbreak.
