He came back to settle the score with someone. Anyone. EVERYONE.
El Mariachi plunges headfirst into the dark border underworld when he follows a trail of blood to the last of the infamous Mexican drug lords, Bucho, for an action-packed, bullet-riddled showdown. With the help of his friend and a beautiful bookstore owner, El Mariachi tracks Bucho, takes on his army of desperados, and leaves his own trail of blood.

Desperado is as much a sequel as it is a remake. It is El Mariachi with a bigger budget and a little more depth. It is more generic, yes, but this makes it more approachable so I think it's a trade-off. I liked it better 20 years ago but it is still entertaining enough, just don`t look for plot holes and stuff. A very good 7.
Selma is so gorgeous in this
To this date, Tarantino's joke at the bar, is my favorite movie joke ever!
Despite all the hype on this film when it was released, I had never watched it. Didn’t live up to its reputation but still decent. I liked seeing so many of the actors from From Dusk til Dawn, some of the action was fun. But the story was a bit on the weak side and some of the action was cartoonish which is sometimes fine but didn’t seem to fit here for me. Not Rodriguez best film but also far from his worst.
This movie doesn't hold up over time - much of it looks kind of silly. But Salma is hot as hell in it, and the song "El Mariachi," performed by Banderas, is now an all-time classic. So, it was worth watching!
