Synopsis
A young shepherd, Lucas, is blinded by lightening, and some kindly nuns at a nearby abbey take him in. Sister Catherine describes snow to Lucas, who has never seen it. Lucas gets chosen to play an angel in the abbey's Christmas pageant, and the Christmas snow that falls during the pageant works a small miracle.

Angela Lansbury stars in the Rankin/Bass holiday special _The First Christmas: The Story of the First Christmas Snow_. The story follows a young shepherd boy who goes blind when he’s struck by lightning and is taken in by a group of nuns who try to nurse him back to health. It’s not about anyone’s first Christmas or snow; the film’s ties to Christmas are really tenuous and don’t really work. Additionally, the characters are bland and the storytelling is rather mundane. _The First Christmas: The Story of the First Christmas Snow_ is an uninspired and lazy holiday special that’s completely forgettable.
