A contemporary tale about a different kind of re-encounter between Africa and the Caribbean.
A French woman of African descent manages to escape after being arrested in the Dominican Republic. She finds shelter in the most dangerous district of Santo Domingo, where she is taken in by a group of children. By becoming their protégée and maternal figure, she will see her destiny change inexorably.

[FCAT '22] There is an interesting reflection on Afro-European and Afro-Caribbean identity in the main character, a French woman of Cameroonian origin who has never visited Africa. But there are also deviations in the script that aren't plausible, especially in the final part. It seems that they try to find an optimistic look towards the characters, although this requires blind faith on the part of the viewer.
