The lure of Gold can make a man do anything. Anything.
A couple of young adventurers go into the wilderness of British Columbia in search of a lost colleague. Their plane crashes and they find themselves at the mercy of a crazed old Scottish miner, who has lived in isolation for many decades searching the mountain caves for a chamber of long lost gold. He is prepared to do anything - including murder - to keep his gold for himself.

It's hard to write something about a film that barely held your interest in the second half. Sure...it's starts out good enough. Basinger and Mancuso going out flying in pretty British Columbia. Then they find Heston (in two roles no less), and after some boring talk, everything goes off the rails. Including the story. After that... I lost interest. I'm sure Mother Lode is fun for fans of Charlton Heston. He did also direct this, and I think it was written and produced by his son. To me, though... It was rather boring.
