Filmmaker Marshall Curry explores the inner workings of the Earth Liberation Front, a revolutionary movement devoted to crippling facilities involved in deforestation, while simultaneously offering a profile of Oregon ELF member Daniel McGowan, who was brought up on terrorism charges for his involvement with the radical group.

A very well made documentary about the Earth Liberation Front, and if I only rated movies for how good they were made (mood, sound, cinematography etc) this would be high up there. The thing is this one invites so many feelings. I don't agree with the tactics of the ELF, I don't like people that resort to extreme measures to, in the end, amount to nothing, and I certainly don't agree with people that hide their faces and whines when they have to go to federal prison as terrorists. Because, like it or not, that's what they were and still are. The very definition of terrorism is "to incite terror". Doesn't matter if life is lost or not. Fess up and face the consequences of your shortsighted actions...then you might have gotten a bit of sympathy from me. Right now I couldn't care less if you rot in prison. What does, to a certain extent, get my sympathies is the cause. The documentary is good...no doubt about that, but I can't help but rate it down because of the subjects in it. Don't hold it against me...
