A fable built from hypnotic images. The absence of dialogue is sometimes somewhat inconsistent, when the scenes seem to need them. But it works best in its ability to create a language of its own through the visual, the beauty of dirt and disturbing atmosphere. Better developed the character of the mother than the weird family, it has gorgeous moments and some narrative imbalance, but it is a very personal movie.
