A little time capsule, the most telling moment is Richard Gere suggesting understanding and togetherness over revenge and getting booed. The funniest moment is definitely not the comedy bits with Sandler and Fallon as the worst but Michael J Fox calling Rudy Guilani America’s favorite mayor now and forever. Rudy has such an opportunistic stink coming off of him here, and the whole show is less asking you to turn your brain off and demanding it. America rules, yay, ‘those people’ stink and could never understand, they live in caves, they’re practically still in the Middle Ages. I watched this for Lee’s short, but his and the others are mostly just okay at best. Just seek out the individual shorts if you can, unless you have an interest in a capture of immediate post 9/11 culture.
