It's like those gag Christmas gifts where you put a so-so present inside a massive box, hoping to hide the mediocrity of the gift in a ton of emptiness and cliché. In The Wannabes, the comedy duo of Palmashow have one decent skit that lasts all of 5 minutes, and it's surrounded by 90 minutes of predictability, used jokes and pour slapstick. It's not surprising, as the team is known for 5-minute bits on YouTube. All they've done here is take one of those 5-minute scenes and tried to stretch it out for 90 minutes. Let's put it this way, the lead-off joke in the movie is a silly looking guy singing karaoke badly. If that's your style of humor, boy, you've hit the mother lode.
