When the world stood still, they came together.
Filmed live on Broadway, the Tony Award-winning musical tells the remarkable true story of 38 flights grounded in a small Canadian town on September 11, 2001. As the locals host these “come from aways,” they come together and find hope.

A good musical with an interesting (true) story and enjoyable music. I think it‘s great that at least some musicals are filmed and brought to a wider audience through TV. I mean it‘s for sure not the same as watching it live but for most it‘s not an everyday activity to watch a musical on Broadway. So this is really the next best thing.
Watching this almost back to back with Waitress really coloured my impression I think. While the story is much more emotional and tragic, Come From Away just didn't hit me like it appears to have hit everyone else and didn't leave even close to the lasting impression that Waitress has. I still enjoyed my time with it, as I seem to with all these filmed musicals (Hamilton, Waitress and now Come from Away) but it's not my favourite by a long shot.
I just love this. How do you convey a story full of sadness, fear, comedy, and joy all at once? This. This is how. Yes, it was a horrific day. But. Life had to go on. And it did. Lives lost and loves gained. Ugh.
This is so good! Wow!
