Kentucky. For decades, Brian Ritchie's family has been living in the heart of the Appalachians. But the mines have been shut down, with nothing to replace them. Caught between a mythical past and an indiscernible future, Brian is one of the last witnesses of a vanishing world, that inspires his poetry.

[DOK.fest] "They say we are rude, uneducated, violent, racist. It's true." This recognition of clichés by Brian is contradicted by his poetic expression. The sound design introduces an apocalyptic atmosphere, which connects with Brian's consciousness, convinced that the end of the world is yet to come. Perhaps not the definitive end, but the progressive disappearance of a lifestyle that is now only past and present.
