The truth is out there… and it’s big!
Bigfoot, Adam's father, wants to use his fame for a good cause. Protecting a large wildlife reserve in Alaska sounds like the perfect opportunity! When Bigfoot mysteriously disappears without a trace, Adam and his animal friends will brave anything to find him again and save the nature reserve.

Heavy-handed environmentalist propaganda, _Bigfoot Family_ is less a family film than an 89 min. political ad. When Bigfoot goes missing while protesting an oil company in Alaska, his wife and son have to come to his rescue, with the help of some animal friends. Having the oil company drill for oil with giant bombs (as opposed to drills) shows just how subtle the filmmaker’s political commentary is (along with their vast knowledge of how oil drilling works). Also, the Bigfoot mythology is rather bizarre; as he’s made into a human scientist who mutated when an experiment went wrong (so he’s not a true Bigfoot). The animation is subpar; with a lot of rough edges and a clayish look. Still, some of the animal side-kicks are fun and the soundtrack does a good job at capturing the tone and feel of the scenes. Yet what little entertainment there is in _Bigfoot Family_ doesn’t make up for the obtrusive and demagogic anti-oil messaging.
Not overall a great movie if I’m being honest..
