A neurotic, self-absorbed shmuck goes around, complaining about a bunch of stuff, and inexplicably charming women until they get sick of him. No sort of resolution.
Well, well, well. This aged well... And when I mean "aged", I mean AGED. 😬
After seeing this movie, I believe that I can now clearly see the difference between a "film" and a "movie". Woody Allen's usual ingredients are all displayed here: comic genius, anxiety, insecurity, etc. It has been a while since I saw "Annie Hall" but I do believe that this movie...errr... film to be superior to that one. In hindsight this film is a little troubling to Allen personally as it is yet another example of him dating someone that is barely (or not even) a woman yet. This was the first Woody Allen movie I ever watched, and this didn't happen until 2024. An amusing story that is a love letter to NYC. Loved it.
