The _Crossword Mysteries_ continues with _Proposing Murder_. After Tess Harper helps an old friend propose to his girlfriend through her newspaper’s crossword, he ends up dead and she attempts to solve his murder. Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott have good chemistry and feel more like a crime solving duo than in the last film. However, the writing is a little weak; as the murder mystery is a rather convoluted and there a couple of awkward exposition dumps. Still, there are several interesting characters and clues. The series is still working itself out, but _Proposing Murder_ is a marked improvement over the previous film that’s entertaining and delivers some thrills.

Not exactly Columbo but a good little murder mystery series. Lead's charm buoys a fairly standard script.

at this point just make a tv series. i’d watch it.
