At a remote lake house in the Adirondack Mountains, a couple entertains an out-of-town guest looking for inspiration in her filmmaking. The group quickly falls into a calculated game of desire, manipulation, and jealousy, unaware of how dangerously intertwined their lives will soon become.

It's not because your lead actress is amazing that your film is, too. Aubrey Plaza owns her role like a used tattoo and turns in what will probably be my favorite performance by an actress in 2020, but all of that is sucked into the void that is this film. Watching a director who's married to an actress make a movie about a director's dysfunctional relationship with an actress doesn't feel like watching a movie to me. It feels like I'm watching a stranger's therapy and that's a lot less interesting than I would've thought.
part one was amazing, so awkward yet hilariously funny. this was well on the way to becoming one of my favourites of the year. but then part two happened....
Ha? ? I understood nothing. Obviously not the drama I was looking for.
