My first recollection of seeing Monica Bellucci is from the second Matrix movie and Malena. This movie pre-dates those by nearly a decade. Good lord she is gorgeous in this. More beautiful than any other movie shot later. She's perfectly cast for this role. It makes the story completely believable.
