The heads of Wall Street's biggest investment banks were summoned to an evening meeting by the US Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, to discuss the plight of another - Lehman Brothers. After six months' turmoil in the world's financial markets, Lehman Brothers was on life support and the government was about to pull the plug. Lehman CEO, Dick Fuld, recently sidelined in a boardroom coup, spends the weekend desperately trying to resuscitate his beloved company through a merger with Bank of America or UK-based Barclays. But without the financial support of Paulson and Lehman's fiercest competitors, Fuld's empire - and with it, the stability of the world economy - teeters on the verge of extinction.

A pretty forgettable (and short) film about the collapse of Lehman Brothers. But not even that. More about the hand-wringing about whether The Fed or fellow bank institutions who would take a big hit if Lehman goes under should save it. In the end nobody did, and its bankruptcy caused multiple financial disasters throughout the world. The film is pretty bad. Most of the time, to the average viewer who is unfamiliar with financial matters of this era, it is unclear what is the significance of the people on screen. And the film makes little effort to explain all the financial internal baseball about why Lehman Brothers was an important part of the economy, or indeed what it actually did. In the end, this film provides no new insights, and very little entertainment.
A pretty decent business movie about real events at the hight of the sub-prime disaster, when the bubble did bust.
