main actress Dora Madison played the sh*t outta this role. opening warning about seizures are necessary - even without preexisting conditions, you may fall out watching this film. Dizzying, strobe lights, loud goth... lots of gore. LOTS of blood. LOTS OF DRUG USE. and sex, wheee! a family friendly film indeed!
Just watched Bliss (2019) directed by Joe Begos, one of the most unique films in the vampire genre that I have ever seen. From the dizzying camera shots and edits, to the acid trip fueled gritty atmosphere accented by blood and gore. It equals to a masterfully crafted demented drug induced cinematic experience you should definitely sink your teeth into.
From painter to vampire through a journey of ecstasy. Excess.
So a really peculiar movie, it tells about the uneasiness of a painter under the effect of a heavy drug, it also tells about the "friends" she has near her and that damn painting to be completed, the choice of colors is visually extraordinary it's a continuous play of warm and dull colors with particular camera angles, the technical side is mind-blowing, the story however is slow and agonizing a movie that lasts 1 hour and 20 that seems to last 3, very heavy (although I liked the movie) Obviously being a horror film the blood and gore is not lacking, a really raw and difficult film to watch, an excellent film
I thought it was a great flick. The art style and just overall craziness were really good. My only issue with the movie is the vampire-like thing that sprung up at the end there. At first I thought it was just going to be a bloodlust kind of thing from the drugs but then the fact that the only way to kill people she bit was destroying the heart really made it feel like vampires. Maybe she was just crazy from all the drugs and it was all a huge hallucination but she did literally explode from the sunlight. Maybe I missed some vampire clues throughout the movie (although it does explain why she never saw her friend during the day) but it sort of felt like a cop out ending to an otherwise great movie.
