Truly a heartfelt story in every way. Based on the real BMX John Mccord, escaping what was a horror of a childhood into even more terror, a hole so many kids get thrown down. A story about second chances, getting passed stereotypes and racism, and being the best you can be.

Has a scrappy, tv movie feel, but despite that, this is still a warm and touching tale. I didn’t get any of the BMX references in the film, however, but those who do will appreciate the name dropping and familiar faces.
