From Rankin/Bass comes _Pinocchio’s Christmas_, a rather imaginative new take on the classic fairy tale. As Gapedo and his enchanted marionette Pinocchio prepare for Christmas, a wolf and cat scheme to kidnap Pinocchio and sell him to a wealthy businessman to be a Christmas present for his daughter. It’s actually not that bad of an adaptation, but the songs are lackluster and seem forced. Also, Pinocchio isn’t all that likable and the pacing kind of drags. Yet even with all its problems, _Pinocchio’s Christmas_ has its moments and is entertaining; especially for younger audiences.
