Synopsis
The prehistoric Croods family live in a particularly dangerous moment in time. Patriarch Grug, his mate Ugga, teenage daughter Eep, son Thunk, and feisty Gran gather food by day and huddle together in a cave at night. When a more evolved caveman named Guy arrives on the scene, Grug is distrustful, but it soon becomes apparent that Guy is correct about the impending destruction of their world.

I absolutely adore this film. ADORE. It is full of good, wholesome Dad-ness. Ryan Reynolds brings his signature snark, but I think Belt absolutely steals the show. Got a kid and need to show them a movie? This is the one. If you cry at touching moments in movies, have a handkerchief. I do and I needed one and didn't have. Don't be me.

I was talked into seeing this, and I have to shout it out, because it is a RIOT! I don't write many reviews, but when I love a film, I have to. If I have any complaint on this one, it's the title. I expected gross-out humor ("crude"). There isn't any, really. It's actually extremely unpredictable, subtle and extremely smart humor.

Was pretty forgettable. Even as someone who actually enjoys predictable, stale plots I couldn't get into it. It really didn't seem to offer much more than barely passable attempts at slapstick humor. Maybe it just caught me in the wrong mood, but I thought with the decent score it got it would be better.
