Based on a Harlequin Romance novel, Christmas Wedding Planner is a cheesy holiday film, but in a good way. While organizing her cousin’s wedding, aspiring wedding planner Kelsey Wilson teams up with a private investigator looking into the prospective groom after she notices some suspicion behavior. Jocelyn Hudon gives a strong performance and has tremendous screen-presence. And the humor is well-done, with some fun satire about weddings. Also, the film does a fair job at working in the usual tropes and clichés of the genre. While it’s not for everyone, Christmas Wedding Planner is an entertaining rom-com that has a certain sort of charm.
Well they weren’t going for realism, that’s for sure. I literally laughed out loud at how far fetched some things were.
