This is one of the strangest movies I've seen in a while. On one hand it is very clearly a Hollywood movie, filled with Hollywood people. But on the other the whole thing plays more like a soap opera. Like a whole season of a soap opera that was edited down to a movie runtime. I think every scene has a shocking revelation, or big twist, or dramatic confession. Every time you think you know what is going to happen with the rest of the movie, that whole thing either plays out in 5 minutes or the opposite happens. Are you a sufferer of TSB (Twist Seeking Behaviour)? Then this is the movie for you.
This was surprisingly good. Blake Lively kills it, she steals the movie. Anna Kendrick is great too. The are a lot of good laughs and the plot is interesting. Definitely worth a watch.
Blake Lively in suits is everything
With too many twists to count “A Simple Favor” is as campy and entertaining as one might expect.
7.5/10 I wasn't expecting so much humor, but I felt it really worked for the film. A good mystery, although predictable about halfway through the film. But again, since this wasn't purely just a mystery, it worked well. Blake Lively was such a perfect psychopath character, and Anna Kendrick as 'that mom's character. In the end, a movie worth seeing, and provides many unexpected laughs.
