This was a big disappointment. I had read really good things about this, about how it was a send-up of film noir murder mysteries, but it was so heavy-handed, it wasn't enjoyable. Generally speaking, I prefer farcical films to be more subtle in their approach, and this was anything but that. Additionally, as someone who watches a good deal of 1940s/50s film noir, the dialogue in this was off-base in a good many regards. This script really could've used an editor or additional writer, someone with fluency in the films it was spoofing.
