After the first one I was already expecting something like this, because Disney Channel never let go of a franchise that worked. The problem is that this time the product placement and the attempt to stretch it thin are way more obvious. The rivalry with Camp Star is so artificial it hurts. A posh camp with a bigger budget appears out of nowhere, stealing the best people and run by a villain whose only motivation is... being evil? The songs are less memorable, although "Introducing me" by Nick Jonas is pretty cute. [SPOILER] The ending is exactly what you expect, they win with the power of friendship, music and teamwork. But the funniest thing is that technically Camp Star was better and they only lose because... they sang with less heart? Sure, Disney. [/SPOILER] You can tell it was 2010 and the Jonas phenomenon was already fading. This movie reeks of a last attempt to squeeze money out before the gravy train ended. It's not horrible, but the first one had something special that's just not here anymore.

Blondie gurl looking like a young version of Taylor Swift lol The Romeo and Juliet side story could have been better but I enjoyed it they were so cute Ironically camp star songs were better sorry not sorry and the last presentation was 10000% better definitely fair that they won Who tf edited this movie feels like all of the scenes were cutted and they put little pieces together doing some kind of weird collage (this movie has more cuts than a teenage girl with depression hahaha sorry the joke came to my mind couldn't help it ) I needed more development in the Shane and Mitch romance Kinda enjoyed it more than the first one Nate's solo to Dana was hilarious word cute but weird And how ridiculous was the bus falling into the water completely unnecessary

Not as good as the first movie but still a classic

This movie has great potential but unfortunately fell flat. Theres a couple of good songs - fire and rain is iconic, we cant back down goes hard, introducing me is classic - but a lot of the songs fall flat, especially as we get towards the end. The final competition songs were kinda boring, but i liked that camp rock lost, and i absolutely adore the reveal being through slow motion reaction shots with no dialogue. Genuinely great cinematic choice. I think unfortunately the ending with camp rock being saved kinda made the whole competition aspect feel pointless.

We have here a musical film with an overproduced soundtrack, whose story is about _\*checks notes\*_ Camp Rock's rivalry with an "overproduced ego factory" across the lake. Ha. Irony. Again. At least this time the story's better overall. Plenty of "why'd they _do_ that?!" to go around still, in both the musical arrangements and story choices for various characters—especially the method by which [spoiler]Connect 3's bus wound up waterlogged… there were still two intact axles on that side[/spoiler]! ---- Surely there were more musical nods than what I caught, but: * Nate's solo [spoiler]to Dana[/spoiler] is absolutely a pseudo-clone of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" in style * Camp Star's final number starts off with an intro undeniably similar to EXO's "Growl" (으르렁) This being a Disney production, it's even odds whether they intentionally cloned popular tracks, and also even odds whether they licensed anything or banked on the Mouse's sheer size to deter litigation.
