Schemes and murder! Lots of enjoy in this twisty yarn, particularly the performances. 1941 (14th) Academy Award nominations: Outstanding Motion Picture, Best Director (William Wyler), Best Actress (Bette Davis), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Patricia Collinge, Teresa Wright), Best Writing - Screenplay (Lillian Hellman), Best Art Direction - Black-and-White (Stephen Goosson and Howard Bristol), Best Film Editing (Daniel Mandell), Best Music - Music Score of a Dramatic Picture (Meredith Willson)
Great movie. Betty Davis was great as always. Cut throat family drama. Loved Betty Davis’ white face. Totally suited the part she played.
