Alexandre Dumas’ story is one of the best stories ever about revenge that feels well deserved. You have to accept the “Superman Effect”, who puts on his glasses and then no one recognises him, but except that, the story is just exquisite. This is the first sound movie on the subject and it is a solid movie. It tells the story well within the length of a single movie. If you do like the story though, there are numerous other versions, many of them good and even excellent, given that the story is so brilliant. I would recommend that you also watch one of the several mini-series that have more time to go further into the details of this fascinating story. Nonetheless, this is a very good version of the story that is still great to watch even after almost 100 years.
