Purists might disagree, but for me, this is one of the best adaptations of the life of Jesus on film. Sure, it's set in modern day (seventies) New York, but the life and love of Jesus is wonderfully represented through music and song. * When you feel sad or under a curse, and your life is bad, with prospects that are worse, then I thorougly recommend this beautiful film.
