Entertaining weird horror sci-fi film from Japan that combines disaster, alien invasion, blood-sucking vampires, possession, and isolation. It's not great but inventive. A plane flies through a blood red sky and crashes into the desert and the survivors encounter a vampire-alien who wants to drain their blood and invade their body. It's funny how the plane remains intact and they're alive after that crash. The characters are all annoying in their own ways and they keep making nonsensical decisions but it provides just the right amount of cheese. I liked the trippy visuals, practical effects, score, and overall weirdness. That ending is satisfyingly bleak. This film just needs crazier gore and lesser plot points.
The original title of the film is Kyuketsuki Gokemidoro.
