A dramatic epic
France, on the eve of the French Revolution. Henriette and Louise have been raised together as sisters. When the plague that takes their parents' lives causes Louise's blindness, they decide to travel to Paris in search of a cure, but they separate when a lustful aristocrat crosses their path.
Avis de la communauté (1)
Standard Griffith melodrama, with the added twist of him, red in the face, telling Bolshevism to get off his lawn. I've written before about my Griffith dislike, and this further emphasizes it. I'm watching the 1001 movies from the Schneider book, and I'm hopeful this'll be the last Griffith.
