Synopsis
Director Claude Lanzmann spent 11 years on this sprawling documentary about the Holocaust, conducting his own interviews and refusing to use a single frame of archival footage. Dividing Holocaust witnesses into three categories – survivors, bystanders, and perpetrators – Lanzmann presents testimonies from survivors of the Chelmno concentration camp, an Auschwitz escapee, and witnesses of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, as well as a chilling report of gas chambers from an SS officer at Treblinka.

I applaud this in depth, multi-sided account. Could be 6 hours with edit that cut translation time, long landscape shots & added visual aid.

A masterpiece. Pity that it was flawed by seeding hate against christians so many times on the basis of a)not doing anything, b)jew women were more beautiful, c)the words in front of Pilates, d)a supposed blood show in Corfu. It was simply not necessary and leads to hate. The enemy are the Nazi, thay forgot this too many times.

This is why you're not allowed to be a Nazi. Every second of this = "no Nazis, ever." Confused on how/whether to engage with Nazis? Just play this movie in the area the Nazis are, everyone who's not a Nazi will immediately understand their obligation, and the Nazi problem will find a solution.
