It’s a new kind of evil, as old as time.
Magic and murder connect an actress, a private eye, a senator and a witch in 1950s Hollywood.

Not at all like the first film, "Cast a Deadly Spell," which was an amusing mashup of film noir and Lovecraft's mythos. There's no Lovecraft, and the magic really makes no sense. This film has little humor and no suspense. The directing is dreadful. Nothing that happens in the plot has any feeling of significance. The pacing is slow as molasses. And Hopper sleeperwalks through the story. Such a disappointing follow-up.
