A thriller loosely based on one of the most violent Czech criminal cases of the nineties, popularly known as the Orlík murders. The film delves into the motivation behind the killings, exposing their exceptional cruelty and an absolute absence of moral values. The perpetrators executed four people on their way to achieving material gain. Two of the bodies were found at the bottom of Orlík reservoir, the third perished in a bomb blast, and the forth was shot at home...

As it is written in the description, the film is inspired by probably the worst murder case in the 1990s in the Czech Republic. A bunch of totally fucked up idiots killed sometimes for a few thousand crowns and threw the corpses in barrels into the Orlice dam. Some of them are probably walking free again... The film in its time was one of those that brought these events closer to you, although of course everyone in our republic knows them. You couldn't ignore it, and I was a kid when it was happening. Certainly the film doesn't hold up much today. The acting is terrible at times and again it suffers from that classic post production voice over. A terrible thing that was used far too often in Czech films. The music is nothing much one song that repeats over and over again. Nowadays there are many documentaries about murders and a series called Ninety, which is much better than this. But hey. The Velvet Killers are such a Czech classic nowadays.
