Has more in common with George Romero's 'Martin' than your traditional vampire movie, and is all the better for it. Ostensibly a coming of age story, this has just enough horror elements to satisfy some fans of the genre. Not for everybody, but for those with a taste of the darkly poetic, your bloodlust may just get sated.
The film presents an intriguing context, moving between drama and horror, with a raw atmosphere and cameras close to the characters, offering an immersive, realistic and introspective experience. However, the result is very uneven, and at certain moments, the introspection becomes excessive, making the pace of the movie slow and repetitive. In addition, there are abrupt transitions that make it difficult to understand the passage of time. The dynamic between the characters is interesting at first, but it doesn't evolve over the course of the plot due to a lack of charisma, showing them to be increasingly apathetic and at odds with each other.
