Synopsis
Thomas Kaiser inherits an ancestral mansion that has been in his family for generations — only to learn that he has also inherited an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. Forced into his new role as “protector” — the guardian appointed to keep the evil demons in the house at bay — Thomas teams with an ambitious local realtor and paranormal cleric to unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose, held captive in a terrifying netherworld seen previously in his dreams.

It is quite fitting that this film replicates Sleeping Beauty's curse... it will possibly send you to sleep. The film isn't helped by a one note performance from Ethan Peck; he may look like a Prince Charming but he doesn't have the acting ability of his famous grandfather, Gregory Peck. I enjoyed the elegant and nightmarish imagery, but the script and acting bring this film down to generic horror movie level.

Another movie that missed it's potential. What could have been an innovative (ish) approach to Sleeping Beauty was plagued with mediocre acting, a dodgy storyline, major plot holes. And in my view, it is almost an insult to end a movie like this on a cliff hanger...
