If you set out to make a painful movie and succeed. Then congratulations, you've made a painful movie :/ Its funny every now and then tho.
For a long time, this was up there as one of my favorite PG-13 films. 12 years later and it’s still gotta be up there. The comedy is your typical Carell / Rudd without sacrificing anything for the non R-rating. At several point I’m still cracking up all these years later, particularly at the dinner scene. I’ll never really understand why the “outrageous” comedies get bad reviews. I enter these movies wanting to laugh, not looking for a crisp plot. This one makes me laugh…a lot. And that’s all there is to it. Rating: 4.5/5 - 9/10 - Highly Recommend
Why did I like this movie so much? Well for one this is a very stupid comedy like dumb and dumber style but if you can accept that than this can be a treat. Paul Rudd kills it as always and Steve Carell plays his role like nobody else could. Very enjoyable comedy imo and very underrated.
Watching people acting stupid is not funny.
Different than expected - in a good way. I thought it will be all about that dinner, but no,
he made a huge mess of his life in sort of cute way
