_Another Day of Life_ is like my drinking days: colorful, devastating, and it taught me a lesson. This animated film tells the story of a polish journalist reporting on the civil war in Angola that festered in the vacuum created when Portuguese colonialists left in 1975. It includes real life interviews of those who were really there, but the most impressive aspect of the film is its look. Not only is the art remarkable, but this movie (along with _Into the Spiderverse_) shows how much of an impact a director can have in a 'cartoon'. _Another Day of Life_ suffers slightly when making the script as melodramatic as the images, and the live action 'reenactment' sequences are as weak as they are unnecessary beside the graphic images. These details, however, are easy to overlook and quickly forgotten in the memorable masterpiece that is _Another Day of Life_.
